Shopify PIM integration

When product content is managed in a PIM, and Shopify is updated manually, you get content drift, launch delays, and catalog errors that your team discovers at the worst time. Shero integrates Shopify with Akeneo, Salsify, Plytix, Contentful, and custom PIM systems so product data, attributes, and rich content publish to the storefront automatically and stay current.

source of truth for product data

A PIM integration means your team updates content once and it publishes to Shopify without a separate export step

"Since partnering with Shero Commerce, our eCommerce revenue has grown by 200%. Their 24/7 support and innovative solutions have been game-changers for our business."

PIM integration for Shopify: what it covers

A PIM integration connects your product information management system to Shopify, so product titles, descriptions, attributes, images, and channel-specific content publish from the PIM directly to the storefront without manual export and import steps. Shero builds PIM integrations for brands with large catalogs, complex attribute structures, and B2B-specific product data that needs to reach Shopify accurately and on schedule.

Why catalog-heavy brands work with Shero on PIM integration

PIM integrations that work for a clean catalog fail when attributes are inconsistent, channel rules are complex, or B2B and DTC product variants carry different content. Getting this right starts with data mapping, not connector selection.

01

Product data mapped before the integration is designed

Shero runs a data mapping session that documents every attribute, field, and content rule before selecting an integration approach. This session identifies data quality issues, attribute mismatches, and channel-specific content rules that will break the integration if left undiscovered until UAT.

02

B2B and DTC channel-specific content handled in the same sync

For hybrid brands, the same product may carry different descriptions, pricing callouts, or attribute sets for trade buyers versus consumers. Shero configures the PIM sync to publish the correct content variant to each Shopify channel without manual content switching.

03

Large catalog performance built into the integration architecture

Painful Pleasures manages tens of thousands of SKUs. A PIM integration for a catalog of that scale requires batch processing, delta sync logic, and error handling that prevents a single failed record from blocking the entire update cycle. Shero designs for catalog size, not a demo scenario.

04

Rich media and asset delivery included in the sync scope

Product images, spec sheets, and video assets stored in the PIM or a connected DAM need to reach Shopify alongside the text data. Shero includes asset delivery in the integration scope so that a product published from the PIM arrives in Shopify complete, not missing its images.

05

Attribute mapping for Shopify metafields and product variants

PIM attributes do not map one-to-one to Shopify fields. Shero handles the translation between PIM attribute structures and Shopify's product model, including metafield definitions, variant option mappings, and custom fields that the storefront or search relies on.

06

Error handling that does not let bad data reach the storefront

A PIM integration with no validation layer publishes incomplete or malformed product data to Shopify. Shero builds field-level validation and error logging into every integration so that records with missing required data are flagged for review rather than published with gaps.

Scope my PIM integration

How Shero builds PIM integrations for Shopify

01

Discovery: Catalog and Attribute Mapping

We document your PIM's data model, attribute structure, channel-specific content rules, and asset delivery requirements. We identify field mapping gaps between the PIM and Shopify's product model and flag data quality issues that need resolving before the integration goes live.

02

Architecture: Sync Design and Validation Rules

We design the sync approach: full catalog versus delta updates, sync frequency, field-level validation rules, error handling, and asset delivery. For B2B and DTC channel-specific content, we design the routing logic that publishes the correct content variant to each Shopify destination.

03

Build: Integration Development and Configuration

We build the PIM-to-Shopify data pipeline with field mapping, validation, error logging, and retry logic. For large catalogs, batch processing and delta sync are built into the architecture from the start. Asset delivery is included in the same build cycle.

04

UAT: Data Accuracy and Storefront Validation

We run a sample of products through the full sync cycle, verifying that every attribute, variant, and asset arrives in Shopify correctly. We test edge cases including products with missing attributes, variant configurations, and channel-specific content rules before any live catalog data publishes.

05

Launch and Ongoing Support

Go-live includes monitoring for the first sync cycles and a runbook for your catalog team covering how to publish new products, update attributes, and handle sync errors. Shero provides ongoing support for catalog model changes and PIM or Shopify platform updates that affect the integration.
