Shero runs a data mapping session that documents every customer, account, and order field that needs to move between Shopify and the CRM, the sync direction, the trigger conditions, and how conflicts are resolved when the same record exists in both systems. For B2B Shopify Plus clients, the CRM integration covers company account structure, not just individual contacts. Benchmade's dealer accounts in Shopify map to company accounts in the CRM, with multiple contacts, roles, and order history linked correctly. This is different from a standard DTC customer sync, and requires explicit mapping of the Shopify B2B company model to the CRM's account hierarchy.

A sales rep managing a wholesale account should be able to see the account's last order, reorder frequency, and product mix in the CRM without opening Shopify. When these connectors cover the requirement, Shero configures them rather than building custom code. When B2B account hierarchy, custom field mapping, or complex workflow triggers fall outside the connector's capability, Shero builds the custom logic to cover the gap.

Discovery: Customer Data and Account Mapping

We document every customer, contact, account, and order field that needs to sync between Shopify and the CRM, the direction of each sync, the trigger conditions, and how conflicts are resolved. For B2B clients, we map the company account hierarchy and multi-contact structure before selecting an integration approach.

Architecture: Integration Approach and Specification

We select the integration approach: certified connector, iPaaS configuration, or custom API build. We produce a data mapping document covering all fields, transformation rules, sync direction, and conflict resolution logic. For B2B account hierarchies and custom field requirements, we specify the custom logic required before development begins.

Build: Integration Development and Configuration

We build the Shopify to CRM data flows with field-level mapping, error logging, retry logic, and monitoring. For certified connectors, we configure and extend. For custom builds, we develop against both the Shopify API and the CRM's API with documented field mappings.

UAT: Data Accuracy and Sync Validation

We test the full sync cycle: new customer in Shopify appearing in CRM, order placed updating the account record, marketing trigger firing on purchase event, and conflict resolution when records update in both systems simultaneously. B2B account hierarchy mapping is tested with representative account structures before go-live.

Launch and Ongoing Maintenance

Go-live includes an ops runbook covering how to identify sync errors, handle duplicate records, and manage the integration as the CRM data model evolves. Shero provides ongoing maintenance so that CRM field changes and Shopify API updates do not break the integration in production.
